Rhys attended the University of Tennessee in America where he obtained two degrees in Political Science and Sociology. During his time there he had multiple to 5 finishes at various golfing events. He achieved various accolades as listed below.

  • 2019-2020: Chancellor’s Extraordinary Academic Achievement Award
  • 2019-2020: Tennessee Men’s Golf MVP Award

After returning from America in 2021, he finished off his Amateur career winning the Walton Heath Trophy. Following that, Rhys turned professional and won the Europro Q School later that year. Rhys now has his first full year as a professional in 2022 which starts in May.
